Web deployment task failed - ERROR_CERTIFICATE_VALIDATION_FAILED

Symptoms: you're unable to publish an application via Web Deploy.

The following error is shown:

Web deployment task failed. (Connected to the remote computer ("example.com") using the specified process ("Web Management Service"), but could not verify the server’s certificate. If you trust the server, connect again and allow untrusted certificates.

To fix this error you can install a signed SSL certificate (Let's Encrypt) under the domain via your Plesk panel. Otherwise, you can retry to publish the application and click on accept when the certificate error window appears.
