cPanel has announced a new pricing structure and is no longer offering unlimited flat-rate licensees.

NOTE: Shared and Reseller hosting accounts are not affected by this change.

This change in pricing is drastic, which appears to be the result of new ownership, Oakley Capital (Oakley). The majority of the industry are migrating away from cPanel due to the price increase and lost of trust.

The new pricing structure is as follows. You can find more information on their site.

  • cPanel, up to 5 accounts, is now $20/mo.
  • From 6 to 30 accounts, is now $30/mo.
  • From 50 to 100 accounts, it is now $45/mo.
  • Above 100 accounts, it is $45/mo plus 20 cents for each additional account.

The prices above are for VPS servers. Dedicated servers with cPanel will start at $45/mo.

Their new pricing will take effect on September 1st, 2019. If you wish to continue using cPanel please take immediate action and purchase a license directly or through an authorized reseller. Datapacket will be cancelling all cPanel license within the next 30 days.

A majority of cPanel providers and admins are migrating to DirectAdmin. DataPacket recommends ISPManager Business edition.

Since cPanel can't be easily uninstalled, DataPacket will setup a second VPS server for you to migrate to, at no additional charge (please open a ticket). Dedicated customers will need to backup data and request an OS reload.
